under lake shore and at the lakeshore’s field recordings were both recorded on march 24, 2020 at lakeshore drive at berwyn and just north of foster beach at the lakefront, chicago, respectively. the music was recorded in june and july of 2020.
mark twain cave’s field recording was recorded at the mark twain cave in hannibal, mo, march 29, 2018 by barbara diener. the piece was composed to accompany a video of her’s called room 2. which was first installed at the university of wisconsin’s lawton gallery, green bay, wi in september 2018. the music was composed and recorded from april-august of 2018.
madre mia was meant to accompany my recitation of the wiiliam hope hodgson poem as part of an aborted ambient project surrounding the poem led by a german called berndt of aquietroom. presented here as an instrumental. composed and recorded march 2020.
rockets red glare was composed to accompany an exhibition of photographs and sculpture by barbara diener at the dank haus, chicago, which opened september 2020. the score was composed and recorded in august and september of 2020.
